Nigerian ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mohammed Rimi has been presented the Medal of Independence of the First Order following the end of his tenure in the Arabian nation.
UAE minister of state Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan awarded the medal to the ambassador on behalf of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The medal was presented during a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
The minister stressed the UAE’s keenness to enhance ties with Nigeria across various spheres.
He also praised the ambassador’s role in advancing the bilateral relations during his tenure in the UAE, and expressed his wishes for further successes and development.
On his part, Rimi thanked the UAE leader and highlighted the achievements of the UAE that demonstrate the leadership’s ambitions to elevate the emirate to a global position and reputation.
He also commended the progress achieved in the relations between the two countries.
