Gospel singer and the 3rd runner up at the maiden edition of the Idols West Africa, Eric Arubayi, is dead.
The young artiste, believed to be in his early 30s, reportedly died on Saturday at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital.
Described as a classic R&B/soul artiste whose music basically summarises the basis of our existence, survival and hustle through life, Eric once said “It’s amazing how God has been a lot to me and a whole lot of people can relate to this hence I call him my everything.”
His last single, My Everything, was released by Spirit Music in 2015.
Having released his debut album titled “Redefined” which saw him working with the likes of Jesse Jagz in 2011, he was most popularly known for hits such as ‘I go Make Am’, ‘Mr DJ’ and ‘One Love One Voice’.
He was said to have fallen sick earlier in the week and was rushed to the hospital.
The friend of Timi Dakolo and Praiz, among others, is survived by his wife of three years, Chinonso, and a child.
