Onikoyi of Ikoyi-Ekiti Oba Moses Akinwande has installed an employee of the Nigerian Tribune Gbenga Olumide as the Olore of Ikoyi-Ekiti.
Olumide was installed over the weekend in Ikoyi-Ekiti, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
The traditional ruler described the journalist as one of the prominent sons of the community who has distinguished himself in his career.
He noted that the community and its residents have benefitted in no small measure through his profession by providing a platform for the promotion of the throne and other agitations.
According to the traditional ruler, the conferment of the chieftaincy title was in recognition of Olumide’s selfless service to the development of humanity and the community.
“Chief Olumide, who is entitled as Olore of Ikoyi-Ekiti, is a bonafide member of the community. He has been paying his due to the community of Ikoyi-Ekiti and he is proud of the town wherever he goes.
“He has been helping the community in all ramifications and has been standing behind its development, hence, the reason for his conferment,” the traditional ruler said.
