The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has announced the arrival of Peace Busari, a Nigerian woman offered for sale on Facebook by a Lebanese, Wael Jerro.

The NIDCOM also said via Twitter that a woman, Temitope Arowolo, who was accused of theft and attempted murder on her employer in Lebanon was part of those who returned to Nigeria on Saturday.

The commission wrote: “72 passengers from Lebanon have arrived Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja today 11th July.

“29 are Nigerian girls working as domestic staff in Lebanon who had since wanted to return home, including Temitope Arowolo and Peace Busari who was put on sale in Lebanon.

“Their flight was paid for by the Lebanese govt and was coordinated by the Lebanese Amb to Nigeria @DiabHoussam and Nigerian mission in Lebanon.”

Busari was kept in the custody of the Nigerian Mission in Beirut, Lebanon after she was rescued from her employer.

Mr Jerro had advertised the victim with her Nigerian passport on a Facebook page, ‘Buy and Sell in Lebanon’.
