Nigerian woman based in the United Kingdom Pelumi Nubi, who is on a solo trip from London to Lagos by road, has announced she would be received at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) on March 23.
The 29-year-old began the trip on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
Nubi, in an Instagram post on Wednesday, thanked UNILAG for the honour.
“I can hardly believe I’m typing this; it feels like just yesterday that I embarked on this journey for a solo drive from London to Lagos. The support I’ve received has been truly overwhelming!” She wrote.
“I am thrilled to announce that my homecoming will take place at the University of Lagos (shoutout to @unilagnigeria 🥳🥳🥳). It’s a full circle moment to inspire the next generation with my favorite motto: ‘START YOUR JOURNEY.’ For those who have been consistently inquiring about my arrival and want to be part of making history, this is your opportunity to come out and support me.”
Nubi urged her fans and well-wishers to get the T-shirts which will be used to welcome her to UNILAG.

“Bring a friend, family members, or loved ones! Save the date: March 23rd! Your girl will be home!” She added.
This is not the travel content creator’s first road trip. She has completed the Lagos-Ghana route twice, spent two weeks exploring Namibia and driven from London to Lake Como, Italy.
According to her, the London to Lagos road trip was driven by the pleasure of adventure, a desire to encourage other female solo travellers, particularly black women, and a desire to challenge preconceived notions about what’s possible.
