Despite the uncertainty surrounding the resumption of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Enyimba launched its remodelled stadium on Sunday.
Enyimba were beaten 1-0 in a novelty match against a selected ex-Super Eagles player.
The Peoples’ Elephant hasn’t played in their home ground for almost two years, adopting the UJ Esuene Stadium.
The Enyimba International Stadium, which capacity is now double, will host their remaining CAF Confederations Cup fixtures.
Nigerians were utterly impressed by the new look of the edifice.
Here’s how few reacted on Twitter.
Gov Okezie Ikpeazu (he plays football every weekend) took the ceremonial kick-off after which both sides traded tackles. It was highly entertaining & the ex Eagles still had moves.

I turned and left. The crowd was too much. Aba people have really missed Enyimba. Wish our league can be harnessed properly. The materials are there. Nzogbu nzogbu Enyimba Enyi!
