Nigerians have clashed on social media over a controversial message preached by the founder and president of LoveWorld Incorporated, popularly known as Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
A video of the pastor went viral on Thursday where he addresses a congregation, saying that God’s original plan was not to create a woman.
The video was reportedly culled from a sermon preached in 2016.
“The reason God made woman was because of man. He made the woman because of the man. That’s why he made the woman. So woman was not his original idea,” Oyakhilome said.
Following cheers from the crowd, the 55-year-old preacher continued, “Let’s see what the Bible says. When God had made everything and then he made Adam, the Bible says everything was very good. Already, everything was very good. No problem.”
More cheers followed before the cleric declared again saying “If most women had their father bold enough to talk to them they would be very successful in their marriage.”
The preacher’s message has generated backlash from social media users who say that he is putting the female gender down in this age of feminism.
Others agree with Pastor Chris saying it is a biblical order.
