Nigerians have criticised the police for arresting a member of the House of Representatives, Shina Peller, who was accused of storming Maroko Police Station with over 50 thugs to remove some vehicles seized by police at his club in Victoria Island.
Mr Peller’s Club Quilox was closed on Monday by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) over noise pollution and traffic congestion following a 36-hour party.

The lawmaker’s press secretary, Kola Popoola, said in a statement that prior to the kickoff of the party, Peller had informed Lagos traffic authorities to avoid traffic gridlock.
Nigerians on Twitter have stood on Peller’s side, asking Lagos authorities to also shut down religious centres for noise pollution.
