Nigerians have appeared divided on the search by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the residence of the former governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode.
The anti-graft agency’s operatives stormed Mr Ambode’s residence in his hometown of Epe and Parkview Ikoyi residence on Tuesday morning following the freezing of the sum of N9.9 billion allegedly linked to Ambode.

They were soon greeted by angry protesters who prevented them from coming out of their vehicles.
Ambode, in a statement by his media aide, Habib Aruna, said there was no cause for alarm.
He said the EFCC, till date, had not opened any direct communication with him on any issue, adding that he was ready and willing to respond if or when they do so.
Several Nigerians have chosen to sit on the fence over the matter, others accuse the EFCC of hypocrisy while some others say Ambode should face the law if he is guilty.
