Nigerians have reacted bitterly to FC IfeanyiUbah’s unexpected early exit from the CAF Confederations Cup.
IfeanyiUbah, unarguably one of Africa’s fastest rising clubs, came into limelight in 2015 and one season after won the Nigerian Federation Cup.
That feat gave the Anambra Warriors one of the country’s two tickets for Africa’s second biggest club football tournament.
But their continental sojourn was cut short even before it started by Egyptian side, Al-Masry.
FCIU bowed out of the competition losing 3-0 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 on aggregate at the Ismaily Stadium on Sunday.
The country’s other representative, Wikki Tourists, were also knocked out of the competition after a 1-2 aggregate defeat to RSLAF of Sierra Leone.
This was what some Nigerians have to say.
@Toyin_Ibitoye @FCIfeanyiUbah Can we say it is nemesis? What a pity, whichever way, it is Nigeria they represented.

@FCIfeanyiUbah This is most unfortunate. Please pick yourself up & move on. You’ve had an experience with this.
