Former Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose, has called on the Federal Government to prevail on mobile network and cable TV providers in reducing tariffs.
The former governor said in a tweet on Wednesday night that the government should be ‘kind enough’ to look into the issue.
“Nigerians have been at home since the beginning of this Covid-19 pandemic, even now that the lockdown is relaxed, causing increase in data usage,” Mr Fayose wrote.
“Govt will be kind enough to prevail on network and cable TV providers to reduce their tariffs to support Nigerians at this time.”
Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, made a similar call before President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the gradual easing of the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory.
