Nigeria’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has received stern criticism for his recent remarks about the country’s women’s national football team.
Dalung, who has become synonymous with unpardonable blunders, stated that the government didn’t imagine the Super Falcons will emerge victorious at the just concluded Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Cameroon.
And for that the reason, no arrangement was made to reward the ladies.
His exact words on Thursday: “One thing I always make clear is that the process of the request for funds for sporting projects must come earlier to meet the objectives. Don’t forget that nobody even knew the team would emerge victoriously; if we were confident they will emerge victoriously, all the federation would have done is to plan for the process of participation and entitlement.”
Dalung’s recent oversight has angered many Nigerians who took to social media platform, Twitter, to share their grievances.
Everytime, Solomon Dalung: My comment taken out of context.
No sir, the alignment between ur brain & ur mouth is what is out of context.

Good Morning everyone except @MBuhari and @SolomonDalung. You can go and collect your good morning from our Falcon champions.

Sir! @MBuhari I believe I speak the mind of the general populace when I ask that you remove Solomon Dalung as Nigeria’s Sports Minister

for those wondering why Solomon Dalung hasn’t been sacked, what is the difference between him and the person that appointed him?
— FAVOUR ONYEOZIRI (@Rouvafe) December 8, 2016
Solomon Dalung should open his mouth only when he is in the toilet, for obvious reasons.

So Solomon Dalung and his ministry expected the Falcons to fail?
How can we move forward in this country with leaders like this man?

I’ve said it before. Will say it again. The best thing @SolomonDalung can do for Nigerian sports at this time is to just STOP TALKING!

Solomon Dalung is a proof that names doesn’t matter anymore.
Naming your child “Solomon” doesn’t mean he won’t grow up to be foolish— Bamigboye Adeola (@BamigboyeAde) December 8, 2016
Solomon Dalung Minister of sports is the dumbest human being I have ever seen. To think we waited months for Buhari to appoint such tragedy
