Former Lagos governorship candidate, Babatunde Gbadamosi, has urged Nigerians who request money from him online to desist from doing so and instead reach out to elected officers.
The former Action Democratic Party (ADP) flagbearer wrote this in a tweet over the weekend.
He wrote: “Stop coming to my inbox to DEMAND that I give you my hard earned money.
“Go and meet those you used your ‘influenza’ skills to persuade the world that they’re the best for Lagos & Nigeria. Don’t you know their address again? You put them in office to eat our taxes. Join them.”
Mr Gbadamosi, who lost the governorship seat to Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress, re-emphasised this in another tweet on Monday.
“Instead of them to go and demand ‘giveaway’ from these ones at their homes and in their offices, from our taxes that they’re spending, na BOG dem go abuse upanadan. Those of you on that table, you TRULY deserve this lot,” he wrote.
Gbadamosi and his wife Folashade were arrested early April for flouting the social distancing order when they attended the birthday party of JJC Skillz, husband of actress, Funke Akindele, in Lagos.
He was charged to court but later released after apologising to the state government and President Muhammadu Buhari.
