The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has said it would sanction any member of its staff without the National Identification Number (NIN).
Director general of NIMC Bisoye Coker-Odusote said this on Thursday in a circular issued to all staff of the commission.
In the circular signed by the commission’s deputy director/head of human capital management department, Rhoda Jackden, the NIMC boss directed that any staff who does not have the NIN will not be considered for training, and could face disciplinary action.
The circular reads: “It has come to the notice of management that some staff members are yet to be enrolled into the National Identity Database, and as such, do not have the unique National Identity Number (NIN).
“In view of the above, any staff without the NIN should obtain one on or before, Wednesday, 31st January, 2024. Please be guided accordingly.”
