Olori Folasade Adegoke-Ogunwusi, one of the wives of the Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has addressed her critics on the reason for calling her son the “crown prince”.
The queen welcomed a son on September 3 at Princess Royal Hospital, London, United Kingdom.
She however drew criticism when she severally referred to the boy as the crown prince in an Instagram post.
Her critics reminded her that the king’s first son was Tadenikawo born by the Ooni’s former wife Naomi, and then Oreade recently born by Olori Tobi.
In a follow-up to her controversial Instagram post, Olori Folasade restated that her child was royalty both maternally and paternally, adding that mothers have the responsibility to speak to their children whatever they want for them.
“A prince from mother side of Ooni Adagba royal compound of Lafogido ruling house and a prince from father side of Ooni Agbedegbede royal compound of Giesi ruling house combined to the royal throne of Oduduwa,” she wrote.
“As a mother call forth and speak life to your children; call them what you want for them and what you want for them to be.
“Let your children know who they are in this world and what they were born and destined to be without prejudice. It is your duty and right to do so as a mother.
“There is power in your tongue, use it on your children. Do not apologise for speaking life to your seeds to germinate and produce fruit. Do not be pressured by no one or no man.”
Oba Ogunwusi married Olori Folasade as his fourth wife in October 2022.
