Blessing Osimhen, sister of Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen, has said that Nigerians should not criticise the Super Eagles following the defeat to Cote d’Ivoire at the finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Sunday night.
The Eagles were beaten 2-1 by the Elephants at the Alassane Quattara Olympic Stadium in Abidjan.
Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller’s second-half goals cancelled William Troost-Ekong’s effort and ensured the host got their third AFCON title.

However, Osimhen’s sister said in an Instagram post on Monday that the team did their best and should be appreciated.
“What a great Game from the Super Eagles! They put all their Effort in this tournament. No one should criticize dem about their performance bcs they have all done well. Let’s Appreciate them and Say positive things to dem (MOTIVATION BRINGS MORE REASON TO WORK HARDER),” she wrote.
