Veteran Nollywood actor, Ignis Ekwe, who was popular for his role in the soap opera, Everyday People, has passed away.
Ekwe died around 2:15 pm on Monday.
The cause of his death was yet to be revealed at the time of writing this report.
His daughter, Susan Ekwe, took to Instagram on Monday to confirm the death.
“Am speechless will this wound ever heal,” she wrote.
Ekwe had his primary and secondary education in Edo State. He graduated from the University of Benin where he studied theatre arts and hold a master’s degree from the University of Jos.
The late actor worked for United Nations Children Educational Fund (UNICEF) as a consultant before going into full time acting.
Before his death, Ignis Ekwe was a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communications, Auchi Poly in Edo State.
Ekwe was popular for classic productions such as Igodo, The Price, and Everyday People.
