Katsina United coach, Bala Nikyu, quit his role with the club on Thursday after just five games.
Nikyu, a former Nigeria U-17 women’s coach, was only appointed at the start of the current Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The gaffer has been fairly impressive with the newly promoted side – losing just twice thus far.
However, there are some other pressing personal issues bigger than his current job according to Nikyu.
“I had an interesting short stay at Katsina United but I do value relationships a lot,” the one-time Wiki Tourist assistant coach told Goal on Friday.
“I served the management a notice of my intention to leave the club and noted personal grounds as my reason why I left.”
“I will leave Katsina State and stay off football for at least a month to think through what next to do. Hopefully I will be back to football but that will be after the short break.”
Katsina are currently ninth on the log after five games and face Niger Tornadoes in their next game on Sunday.
