Mountain of Fire Ministries FC (MFM FC) have moved closer to leaders, Plateau United, after another impressive outing at the Agege Stadium.
Surprise package, Plateau, appear to be carrying out an assault on the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) this season.
But the Jos-based suffered a setback on Sunday, losing 1-0 to El Kanemi Warriors on the road.
That disappointment was a blessing for MFM FC who defeated ABS FC 2-1.
Austine Ogunye opened the scoring for the Prayer Warriors from the spot after just 17 minutes.
Super Eagles invitee, Sikiru Olatunbosun, doubled their lead in the 66th minute.
Wasiu Alalade gave the visitors some glimpse of hope by notching two minutes to the end of regulation time.
The victory takes the Olukoya Boys to just two points off Plateau with 46 points.
In the star game of matchday 27, Akwa United needed a moment of brilliance from Musa Newman to see off visiting Enyimba, 1-0 in Uyo.
