Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title winning coach, Imama Amapakabo, has finally extended his contract with champions, Rangers.
The charismatic gaffer last season led the Flying Antelopes to their first domestic title in 32 years.
It was speculated that the 45-year-old will quit the Enugu-based side after failing to agree terms for a new deal.
However, in a twist of events, the former youth international on Wednesday put pen to paper and will now be in charge of the team until 2018.
Amapakabo was also appointed into the club’s recruitment committee – a body which oversees the signing of players.
The committee will be headed by Steve Orurou with the likes of general manager, Ozor Paul Chibuzor, Afam Udeani and Christian Chukwu all members.
Should the gaffer move ahead to win the league for the second successive season, he will become the first to achieve such feat.
Rangers will also become the most decorated club in Nigeria with eight domestic titles – one more than Enyimba.
