Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State Cosmas Ugwueze has discredited a viral video alleging attack on military personnel in the area.
Mr Ugwueze said the video was initiated on WhatsApp by a man named Wisdom Ezema.
According to him, the video was an “embarrassment to the peace-loving people of the council area, who over the years have maintained healthy relationship with both the military and paramilitary forces domiciled in Nsukka local government area.”
He assured that there was no security breach of any sort.
“It is important to warn mischief makers who use the agency of the new media to vend false information to desist as they would be made to face the full weight of the law when apprehended,” he said in the statement issued on Monday.
Ugwueze commended security operatives for their commitment to ensuring peace and security in the council area, urging members of the public to go about their lawful businesses without fear.
