Chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has likened the union to professions like law, engineering and medicine.
MC Oluomo recently received the winner of Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency 1 election, Bashiru Dawodu, a medical doctor, in his apartment.
Dawodu paid the NURTW leader a visit to show him his certificate of return.
In a tweet on Friday, MC Oluomo said NURTW was a profession just like law, engineering and medicine, and that members of the union were not thugs but professionals.
He also boasted that he had children studying in American universities even if he did not see the walls of an institution.
The union leader also had words for those who criticise him in public but secretly beg him for money.
Oluomo had in January been stabbed by rival members of the NURTW who invaded the Skypower Ground, Ikeja venue of an All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos rally with guns, daggers, and other dangerous weapons.
