Former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has claimed that officials of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) failed to show up when he accompanied corps member Ushie Uguamaye, popularly known as Raye, to face questioning over her criticism of President Bola Tinubu.

Raye went viral during th weekend after posting a video on her TikTok account, #talktoraye, where she blamed President Tinubu’s administration for Nigeria’s economic struggles, calling him a “terrible leader.”

Following the video’s widespread attention, she alleged that NYSC officials had threatened her and later summoned her to appear before her Local Government Inspector (LGI) on Monday.

Sowore, along with a team of lawyers, escorted Raye to the NYSC office in Eti-Osa, Lagos, but he claimed the officials avoided them.

“We accompanied Raye with some attorneys to the LGI, but the officials absconded, they went into hiding,” Sowore said in an interview.

Providing an update on X, he added, “We arrived at the Eti-Osa LGI offices of the National Youth Service Corps with youth corper Ushie Rita Uguamaye in Lagos.

“She was scheduled to appear before the LGI today, and we escorted her to their offices with attorneys Festus Ogun, Adeyinka Oyesomi, and Ojienoh Justice, but the LGI officials had absconded, failing to show up throughout our stay. We will be back!”

Sowore ended his post with hashtags #RevolutionNow and #TinubuIsATerriblePresident.
