A part three student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU), Omotola Kayode, has slumped and died while playing football.
The deceased was before his death studying microbiology at the university.
OAU spokesman, Abiodun Olarewaju, in a statement said the student slumped and died on Friday while he was playing football with his colleagues.
He said the student was immediately taken to the University Health Centre where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
“All measures to resuscitate him proved abortive,” the spokesman said.
The university’s management, he said, condoles with the deceased’s parents, family, classmates, colleagues and the entire university community over the loss.
