“I received with great shock the news of the sudden passing of Mr. Gboyega Soyannwo, the Deputy Chief of Staff, (DCoS) to the Governor of Lagos State on Wednesday, 15th May, 2024 aged 55,” Hamzat wrote.

The deputy governor said Soyannwo’s “intelligent” contributions, as a member of the state executive council, to discussions on issues and policies affecting the development of the state were never in doubt.

“I need to add that Soyannwo was beyond a member of the state Executive Council, but a very reliable and trustworthy ally, just as he was with Mr. Governor.
