Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has denied the existence of a rift between him and his predecessor who is also national chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole.

Obaseki said this on Wednesday at the Benin Airport on arrival in the state following a one-month vacation.

The governor said such reports were fake and that the people of the state should be concerned about good governance not petty issues.

Obaseki arrived the airport at about 11.30am in the company of his wife, Betsy.

He said Edo people should expect more from him as he had returned refreshed.

Obaseki was received by the deputy governor, Phillip Shaibu; secretary to the state government, Osarodion Ogie; Edo State House of Assembly Speaker, Kabiru Adjoto; and chief of staff to the governor, Taiwo Akerele.

All 18 local government council chairmen and Edo APC leaders were part of the troupe to receive him.
