Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has appointed Omobayo Godwin as his new deputy.
This followed the impeachment of the former deputy governor Philip Shaibu on Monday by the House of Assembly.
Shaibu, according to the panel set up for the impeachment proceedings, was sacked for misconduct such as leaking the state government’s secrets.
Godwin, a 37-year-old engineer, is expected to be sworn in on Monday.
