Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has excused himself from the recent outburst of presidential aspirant Bola Tinubu, saying he is not an emperor and that the office of governor is not his inheritance.
Tinubu had said on Thursday in Ogun while addressing APC delegates that becoming Nigeria’s president is his life ambition, boasting that he made Muhammadu Buhari president, Yemi Osinbajo vice president and Abiodun governor.
His statement came amid rumour that he is not President Buhari’s favourite aspirant to succeed him.
Abiodun, who is seeking re-election, said via his social media pages that he is not an emperor and the people will always come first in his affairs.
“I am not an emperor by any chance and this is not my family inheritance,” he said.
“I am holding this position in trust for all the people of this state and I have vowed to be fair, just and equitable and this is the solemn agreement I made between the Almighty God and myself.”
