The 5th Annual YES INTERNATIONAL! Lecture/Cocktail Party will hold on Monday, June 20 at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Former Minister of Industry and incumbent President, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. (Mrs.) Nike Akande, has been confirmed as the chairperson.
MD/CEO of Rainoil Limited, Dr. Gabriel Ogbechie, will be the guest speaker, while Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, is the guest of honour.
Dr. Ogbechie, a respected businessman and one of the biggest players in the oil sector, will be discussing the topic “Running a Successful Business in Nigeria: My Experience”.
The event had in the past attracted the likes of Mr. Biodun Shobanjo of Troyka Holdings, Mr. Udeme Ufot of SO&U Advertising, Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh of Zinox Computers, Mr. Lolu Akinwunmi of Prima Garnet, Sir Steve Omojafor of STB McCann and Prof. Pat Utomi of CVL.
Billed to begin at exactly 11am with an opening prayer by Apostle Anselm Madubuko of the Revival Assembly Church, the 2016 annual lecture will see the unveiling of YES CLASSICS – an all-colour, no-gossip special magazine parading their best interviews in the year under review. The unveiling will be professionally handled by one Nigeria’s best broadcasters and MD of BISCON Communications, Prince Bisi Olatilo.
Short remarks will also be made by Emeka Oparah of Airtel, Tunde Braimoh of the Lagos State House of Assembly and the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy Commissioners, Steve Ayorinde and his Ogun counterpart, Dayo Adeneye.
The exponent of class act, the multi-talented, Basorge Tariah (aka Do Good), is going to be the compere while singer Harrysong and DJ Jimmy Jatt will ensure that there will be no dull moments all through the four-hour programme.
Commenting on the event, YES INTERNATIONAL! Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, Azuh Arinze, stated that it’s going to be a remarkable and memorable day.
“This is the fifth edition, so people should expect the injection of some fresh ideas into the programme. However, and for now, I wouldn’t want to unfold them yet. This edition, no doubt, will be an improvement on the previous ones in terms of everything,” he said.
On what actually prompted the programme in the first instance, Azuh said “it’s our own little way of encouraging entrepreneurship. Nobody has attended any of our lectures and remained the same; according to what they’ve told me. And I know that this one won’t be an exception. We are ready to go, and can’t wait for that day.”
The invitation cards, meanwhile, have begun doing the rounds, both electronically and otherwise. Nonetheless, those who are yet to get theirs can call 08023002092 or send a text to 08033062157. The event is free, but strictly by invitation.
