Comedian, Okey Bakassi, has announced that his daughter, Chidera Onyegbule, has graduated from high school in Canada.
The 50-year-old made this known on Tuesday when he shared a picture of Chidera standing in front of her school’s billboard with pictures of the graduating students on it and apologised for not being there due to the coronavirus travel ban.
“Congratulations to my darling daughter, Chidera, on your successful graduation from High school… I love you Dera. Sorry the lockdown won’t allow me be there as earlier planned…,” he captioned the Instagram post.
In June 2019, Okey Bakassi, whose real name is Okechukwu Onyegbule, joked that he owed Chidera $1000 which he promised to give her if she qualified for the OFSAA (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations).
He wrote on Instagram, “I’ve put myself in trouble….. Early this year my #daughter was worried she wouldn’t qualify for OFSAA (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations), because she will be running in the Senior category against Students older than her. As a #father I had to motivate her, I promised to give her $1000 if she qualified and another $1000 if she ran at #OFSAA and finished top 3.
“She qualified last night, running her 100m PB of 12.7sec. I’m now owing her $1000. Congratulations Chidera #futureolympian #canada #naijablood
Pls if anyone has $1000 you don’t need, just give it to me.”
