Ace comedian, Okey Bakassi, announced the death of his friend, Maurice Okoro.
The 50-year-old said in a post on Instagram on Friday that he was shocked at the loss because the deceased, whom he fondly called Mazi Okoro, sent him a message last December to say he had been appointed chairman of Arochukwu LGA in Abia.
“Pls Maurice Onyekachi Okoro or Mazi Okoro as I fondly call you, plssss just tell me that what I’m seeing on social media is not true…. Bro!! You are too young to die….it can’t be true bro,” he said.
“You sent me a WhatsApp message on December 7 to let me know you’ve been appointed chairman of Arochukwu LGA….how can you be suddenly dead? What kind of joke is this life!”
The comedian added that he was tired of losing good friends.
Okey did not reveal details of the death.
