Uche Nwosu, son-in-law of a former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has withdrawn the appeal he filed against the election of Governor Emeka Ihedioha.
Mr Nwosu, governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the 2019 general elections, withdrew the appeal on Tuesday.
His lawyer, Solomon Umoh, told the seven-man panel of the Supreme Court led by Chief Justice Tanko Muhammad, that the decision to withdraw the appeal was based on the court’s judgement delivered on December 20, 2019.
The apex court had on the said date declared that Nwosu was not validly nominated as a candidate of the AA to participate in the poll, thus lacked the locus standi to file any case in connection with the election.
