Dignitaries on Wednesday attended the wake and night of tributes held in the memory of Edith Dibofu, the late mother-in-law of the former minister of works and housing, Babatunde Fashola, in Surulere, Lagos.
They include the state’s first lady, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; the state’s second lady, Oluremi Hamzat; two former deputy governors, Sarah Sosan and Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.
Also present were the House of Representatives member, Jumoke Okoya-Thomas; former chairman of FirstBank, Ibukun Awosika; representatives of the Oba of Lagos and white cap chiefs.
Fashola described Dibofu, who died on June 24 at the age of 87, as a saint.
“She was truly a remarkable woman. I think that, with hindsight, a saint lived with us and maybe we just knew it, may her soul rest in peace,” he said.
