Chelsea defender, Ola Aina, appears to have moved on after surprisingly being dropped from Super Eagles’ World Cup squad on Sunday.
Aina, 21, was part of the initial 30-man roster and even sneaked into the last 25 which were beaten 2-1 by England on Saturday.
Alongside Mikel Agu, the versatile defender, who spent last season on loan at Hull City, didn’t get a seat on the flight to Russia.
Aina took to Twitter on Tuesday to wish the team success.
May be next time..
I want to wish the boys all the very best out in Russia make our Nation proud #soarsupereagles #MrLulu 🇳🇬 🦅 pic.twitter.com/yfEfVRUJ3G— olaoluwa aina (@Aina2Ola) June 5, 2018
Aina kitted for Three Lions at various youth levels before switching allegiance to Nigeria last year.
Since then, he’s featured five times for the West Africans.
Aina will be hoping to make more impact next season at Chelsea in order to break permanently into Gernot Rohr’s team.
