Bashir Ahmad, special assistant on digital communications to President Muhammadu Buhari, has compared the redesigned naira notes with the old N50, N20 and N10 denominations.
Buhari unveiled the redesigned N200, N500 and N1,000 notes on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Reacting to the changes, Ahmad shared photos of both sets of notes on Twitter and said, “Good to see our 10, 20, 50 old notes back.”
Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said that since the announcement of the redesign only N165 billion has been deposited as of Friday, November 18.
The apex bank, however, said some big banks with large depositors base were yet to make any deposit.
CBN currency director Bello Umar stated these at the monetary policy committee (MPC) post briefing.
Umar said the CBN has not seen the much-anticipated rush by the public to make large deposits.
The distribution of the new currencies to banks will commence on Thursday.
