Veteran actor Adedeji Aderemi, popularly known as Olofa Ina, died 30 minutes after he was brought home from the hospital, one of his wives has said.
Olofa Ina died on Thursday evening after a protracted illness.
He was 73 years old.
One of his wives identified as Modinatu Aderemi told BBC Yoruba that the Kabiyesi Olodumare actor died around 7:30 pm.
According to her, Olofa Ina had been ill for a while.
“We had been taken care of him, and he was at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital in Ile-Ife.
“We were told to bring him home from the hospital on Thursday evening. It was not more than 30 minutes after we got home that he died.”
Modinatu added that the actor was in the hospital for three weeks but she cannot say what the exact cause is death was.
The bereaved said her husband was a good person full of kindness and compassion.
“If it was of his kindness and compassion alone, my husband should not have died.
She explained that her husband does not get angry longer than necessary.
“If we fight, he was the one who would take my anger away from me,” she concluded.
