Olori Ivie Atuwatse III, wife of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has spoken about how she manages her husband’s unique approach to leadership and personal style.

Speaking on The Morning Brief show on Channels Television on Monday, the queen acknowledged the intricacies of their royal responsibilities but noted that their strong relationship keeps them grounded.

“We’ve been able to navigate the complexities of the throne,” she said. “We have a great relationship. We deal very intimately with each other with love.”

Her comments come in the wake of a viral video showing the Olu of Warri stylishly riding a scooter through his ancestral home, Ode-Itsekiri, as his followers hailed and sang his praises.

Asked if she would consider riding a scooter just like her husband, the queen laughed and responded, “I can’t even ride a bike because I don’t have balance.”

Ogiame Atuwatse III, the 21st Olu of Warri and Olori Ivie Atuwatse III (née Ivie Okunbo) have been married since November 2014 and have three children together.

In November 2024, they marked their 10th wedding anniversary with heartfelt messages and family photos celebrating their union.

Beyond their royal duties, the couple is deeply involved in philanthropy within the Warri Kingdom.

The Olu of Warri has championed educational initiatives, including a scholarship program that recently benefited 27 children.

Olori Ivie, on her part, has led various empowerment projects focusing on women and youth development.
