Founder of Genevieve Magazine Betty Irabor has countered the latest rumour of the death of veteran actor Olu Jacobs.

Rumour of the movie star’s death began circulating on Sunday on social media.

However, in a post on X, Mrs Irabor urged the general public to ignore the rumour, adding that Olu is alive.

“Olu Jacob is well and alive.. pls ignore all rumors of his passing,” she wrote.

The actor’s family has also released a video on social media to debunk the latest rumour of his death.

In the 19-second video, Olu is seen getting his beard shaved while his son informs him about the rumour of his death. The 82-year-old appeared surprised about the rumour.

His son then says the actor would be heading to Ikoyi Club so the general public can see he is “out and about”.

Earlier Soji Jacobs, son of the veteran actor, debunked the rumour that his father was dead.

The younger Jacobs spoke to QEDNG publisher Olumide Iyanda on the phone on Sunday as the false news of his father’s death was trending on social media.

According to Soji, “The family is tired of this rumour that keeps recurring every year.”
