Olu Jacobs, Joke Silva’s 1986 stage play to be re-enacted in honour of 80th birthday

Holy Child, the 1986 stage play by Nollywood couple, Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva will be re-enacted in honour of the former’s 80th birthday celebrations.

Veteran actress Joke Silva announced this in an Instagram post on Thursday, July 7, adding that the play was first performed by the duo in I986 and again in 1987 and I993.

She noted that the play will be performed at the Glover Memorial Hall by Lufodo which is being managed by the couple in December 2022 as part of Jacobs’ 80th birthday celebration.

Sharing a throwback photo from one of the performances, the 60-year-old wrote: “Olu Jacobs as Joseph, Joke Silva as Mary in the Musical HOLY CHILD written by Olu Jacobs and directed by late Tunde Oloyede. The first stage production by Lufodo the production outfit owned by the duo. Holy Child premiered at the National Theatre Cinema Hall 2 in December 1986.

“It was performed again in 1987 and again in 1993. It will be performed in December 2022 @ Glover Memorial Hall by Lufodo. 80th birthday loading.”

Fans of the duo took to the comment section of the post to express their excitement over the good news.

“Can’t wait!!! You too were magic together also on stage. You’ve been blessed my sister,” Yemisiwada.
