Oluwo of Iwo Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi has tagged the celebration of his eighth coronation anniversary as ‘Odun Olodumare’.
Oba Akanbi clocked eighth years on the throne of his forefathers on Thursday, November 9. He was crowned in 2015.
Commenting on the milestone, he wrote in an Instagram post, “MAKE 8 years today on the throne of God Almighty on earth and as The Representative of God (Arole Olorun lori ile) on earth ! I give you GOD ALMIGHTY all the glory and praise that you choose me out of many ‘the stone the builders had rejected has become the cornerstone of the house it is Olódùmarè’s doing and it’s marvelous to the eyes… with your power and grace I have conquered many battles and I’m still destroying my enemies by matching them cos they are sands that I will match on.”
The monarch said the town he rules over “has been turned around to a great one known worldwide and swimming in achievements with so much value and uncountable blessings.”

According to him, the people are happy with his reign and they do not want an end to it.
“I choose to celebrate you the King that enthrones me as king and my Creator. Today is the day God has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it, today is ‘ODUN OLODUMARE’ GOD FESTIVAL,” he added.
Since ascending the throne, Oba Akanbi has been speaking against the worship of idols and deities.
In March, the Oluwo welcomed a baby girl with his wife Firdaus, a Kano-born princess.
He named his daughter after the Olofin Adimula of Ile-Ife Luwo Gbagida.
