Oluwo of Iwo Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi on Sunday took the general public further on his wedding to Firdaus, the niece of the Emir of Kano.
The monarch posted to Instagram videos of the reception, strictly for ladies, that was held at The Gidan Rumfa, the palace of the Emir.
In one of the videos, Queen Firdaus dances to Yoruba music. In another, she dances to DJ Tarico and Burna Boy’s ‘Yaba Buluku’ which got the monarch excited as he noted in his caption, “Yaba buluku!!! at the palace of the Emir of Fulani Emirate of Kano.”
The wedding between Oluwo and Firdaus was held at the residence of the Madakin of Kano.
Oba Akanbi, who became the Oluwo of Iwo in November 2015, at 48, married his first wife Chanel Chin, a Jamaican, shortly after he was enthroned.
According to the monarch, the union which produced a son named Oduduwa, ended due to irreconcilable differences.
Oluwo said in one of his Instagram posts on Saturday that he had finally found his soulmate.
Last month, a letter surfaced on the internet, suggesting that the Oluwo requested N20 million from the governor of Osun State to finance his wedding since it was a “marriage of two important institutions in Nigeria.” Both the Oluwo and the state government disowned the letter.
