Political commentator Japheth Omojuwa has come under criticism on social media for asking the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25 poll, Peter Obi, to concede defeat.
The critical comments began pouring in from Mr Obi’s supporters on Tuesday after Omojuwa reacted to a series of posts on X.
Obi’s post was titled: ‘The Rule of Law and the Credibility of Leadership’.
Part of his post reads, “…The judiciary has a bounding duty to protect society’s value system. This is one of the obligations of an impartial judiciary in a democracy. The rule of law remains the lifeblood of democracy in all societies and by whatever definition across time.”
Reacting to the post made by the former governor of Anambra State, Omojuwa wrote: “Omo, it was just an election loss mahn. You finished 3rd. 2nd runner-up. Would we have had to divide the country into 2 to give you one half if you finished 2nd? Let it go. You lost fair & square. If the INEC results didn’t show you that, your arguments in court put that to rest!”
Obi’s supoorters known as Obidients fired back. See below:
