Omoni Oboli reacts to viral Facebook claim of Chioma Akpotha welcoming baby boy

Actress Omoni Oboli has humorously responded to a viral Facebook post claiming her close friend and colleague Chioma Akpotha recently welcomed a baby boy.

The 46-year-old shared a screenshot of the post on Instagram on Monday, which featured a photo of Chioma alongside an unidentified baby and the caption: “Congratulations to you Chioma Chukwuka finally welcomes baby boy.”

Taking the joke further, Omoni shared a screenshot of a supposed two-and-a-half-hour phone call with a woman bearing little resemblance to Chioma.

In her caption, she wrote: “I’m hearing congratulations are in order for my lovely friend @chiomakpotha on the birth of her bouncing baby boy 🎉🥰.

“We’ve been on the phone for over 2 hours 30 minutes discussing breastfeeding, naming ceremony, and others. Perhaps we call the baby @thechiomachukwukatv since that’s the only new baby I’m aware of that’s trending!

“PS: As seen on Facebook! 🤦🏽‍♀️

Fans and colleagues took to the comment section to react to the fake news.

Actor Shawn Faqua echoed Omoni’s caption, while Uche Jombo and Efe Irele shared laughing emojis.

Chioma herself joined in the fun, commenting: “Oh by the way, on YouTube I have a set of twins 😂.”

Comedienne Lepacious Bose added, “FB knows you more than you know yourself.”

This playful exchange highlights the close bond between Omoni and Chioma, as well as their ability to turn internet falsehoods into moments of laughter.

In August 2024, Omoni celebrated a major milestone in her personal life, becoming a grandmother after her son Tobe and his wife Marelle welcomed their first child.

Sharing the joyous news on Instagram she wrote, “Our hearts are filled with gratitude and joy. We never knew we could love a tiny human this much.

“Our baby Naya is here, and she’s the perfect gift from God. Our hearts are filled with so much love. Naya, mummy, daddy, grandparents, and uncles are all doing amazing. THANK YOU LORD.”
