Omoni Oboli reacts as Jerry Eze, others use ‘Love in Every Word’ for sermons

Filmmaker Omoni Oboli has expressed her elation as her latest movie, Love in Every Word, inspires sermons by prominent clerics, including Pastor Jerry Eze and Reverend Father Gabriel.

The romantic drama, which premiered on March 7, 2025, has significantly influenced various discussions, including religious teachings.

Pastor Jerry Eze of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declaration (NSPPD) incorporated phrases popularised by the film into his preaching, sparking reactions online.

During a recent sermon, Pastor Eze used the terms “Achalugo” and “Odogwu Paranran,” which gained prominence from Love in Every Word. In the film, the lead actor, Uzor Arukwe, uses “Achalugo” to describe his love interest, Bam Bam, and is referred to as “Odogwu Paranran.” These expressions have since resonated with audiences.

In his message, Pastor Eze emphasised the importance of sensitivity and openness, stating: “Don’t lose your sensitivity. The brother that asked you ‘sis how are you doing?’ Everybody does not want to chase you, Achalugo. I want you to know… Who knows? He might be your Odogwu Paranran.”

Additionally, Reverend Father Gabriel, a Nigerian Catholic priest, praised the film for encouraging authenticity and cultural pride.

He noted: “The major thing I like about the movie is how it encourages one to remain authentic with one’s culture, especially one’s native language and accent. If you’re an Igbo man, Yoruba man, etc., that’s WHO you are! It’s a blessing! Your language is your pride!”

Omoni Oboli took to her Instagram page on Monday to share her excitement about the movie’s impact.

She posted: “The spirit of the Lord really moved yesterday Sunday. I can’t count the number of churches that pastors used our movie LOVE IN EVERY WORD to preach! Lord I give you praise. Besties, our faith-based romantic movie TO LOVE AND KABASH is now showing on Omoni Oboli TV. Watch both movies and smile for hours.”

She captioned the post, “Favourrrrrr. To your glory my King.”

Since its release, Love in Every Word has achieved remarkable success on YouTube.

The film garnered over 4.3 million views within the first 72 hours and surpassed 15 million views in just over a week, making it one of Nollywood’s fastest-growing films on the platform.
