Veteran actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has made headlines after correcting a fan who referred to her by a wrong name on social media.
This comes just days after she opened up about her periodic breaks from the media.
The X (formerly Twitter) user, identified as Dami Adenuga, shared a video of Omotola on his page on Monday, referring to her as “Omotola Johnson.”
The video in question was an earlier clip where the actress explained why she occasionally steps away from Nollywood.
His post quickly caught Omotola’s attention, and she promptly corrected the fan.
The award-winning actress pointed out that simply using her first name would have sufficed, as it is already trademarked.
She responded: “Omotola Johnson? Lol… please, just call me OMOTOLA. That will suffice. It’s trademarked.”
This interaction follows Omotola’s recent comments about her intermittent absences from the Nigerian film industry.
She revealed that after working continuously for many years, she takes these breaks to relax, reflect, and recharge.
Having started her acting career at the age of 15, Omotola explained that the demanding nature of her profession makes it essential for her to step away from time to time in order to maintain her passion and creativity.
