Omoyele, Obi, others to headline 2025 Industry Summit

The organisers of The Industry Summit & Awards (TIES) have unveiled the theme and key speakers for the 2025 edition, which aims to address the shifting consumer landscape in Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

The sixth edition of the summit, organised by The Industry Newspaper, follows the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria’s (MAN) recent report that the country’s manufacturing sector recorded N1.4 trillion worth of unsold goods in 2024.

This was attributed to inflation, diminishing consumer purchasing power and rising operational costs.

Announcing the theme, “Understanding Changing Consumer Preferences in a Troubled FMCG Space,” the convener of the summit, Goddie Ofose, stressed the need for manufacturers to rethink their strategies.

According to him, “Inflationary impact is real, and it has continued to dig some holes in the pockets of consumers, which in turn results in consumers’ preferences. Manufacturers must adapt to the shifting consumer preferences if they must survive.”

The event will be chaired by Dr. Obinna Ike, CEO/MD of NigerBev Limited, while Lampe Omoyele, Managing Director of Nitro 121 Limited, will deliver the keynote address.

Other guest speakers include Toyin Nnodi, former marketing director of CHI Limited; Stanley Obi, immediate past Prime Business Director at Grand Oak and Co-founder/CEO of Innova Hive Integrated; and Anthony Eigbe, Vice President, Creative & Communications at UAC Nigeria Plc.

Ofose highlighted the importance of the speakers and panelists, saying, “We have carefully selected the 2025 members of faculty who possess vast experience in product innovation, marketing, advertising, brand management, distribution value chain and communication that would look at these issues dispassionately and proffer solutions to this new market challenge.”

The event will also feature a panel session with industry executives such as Ayo Awosika, GM, Commercial at UAC Foods; Remi Akanda, Director, Marketing & Corporate Communications at LAPO Microfinance Bank; Adeola Amosun, Group Media Manager at Tolaram; Gbemileke Lawal, Marketing Manager at Grand Oak Limited; and Oluseun Mudashiru, Brand Manager, Big Bull Rice at TGI Group.

Others include Roseline Abaraonye, Chief Commercial Officer at N.N. Fems Group, and Ifeoluwa Esther Obafemi, Head, Digital, Media & Insights (Digital Transformation) for Sub-Saharan Africa at FrieslandCampina WAMCO.

The panel session will be moderated by Gift Uche-Ewule, Assistant Brand Manager at Indomie.

The 2025 Industry Summit & Awards is scheduled to take place over two days, with the lecture session holding on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Victoria Island, while the dinner and awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island.

The summit is expected to provide practical solutions to the economic challenges facing manufacturers while offering insights on how businesses can remain competitive in an evolving market.
