Just as she was causing internet storm Tuesday with a naked image posted on Instagram, the American Food and Drug Administration has come down hard on her campaign for a morning sickness drug.
A June 19 Instagram picture featuring Kardashian promoting a morning sickness drug called Diclegis has earned the manufacturers a formal FDA warning letter.
Part of the FDA letter reads: “The social media post is misleading because it presents various efficacy claims for Diclegis, but fails to communicate any risk information.”
Kim had raved in her post: “As you guys know my #morningsickness has been pretty bad. I tried changing things about my lifestyle, like my diet, but nothing helped, so I talked to my doctor. He prescribed me #Diclegis, and I felt a lot better and most importantly, it’s been studied and there was no increased risk to the baby. I’m so excited and happy with my results that I’m partnering with Duchesnay USA to raise awareness about treating morning sickness.”
The posts promoting the drug have since been taken down.
What is left hanging is the picture of the 34-year-old in a hyper-revealing shot posted on Instagram to dispel online rumours that she is using a surrogate. She is believed to be due to give birth in December and has hired a nutritionist to help her stay healthy.
Kim announced her pregnancy at the end of May and revealed on Father’s Day in June that she and husband Kanye West are expecting a boy.
Her revealing pregnancy picture comes a day after 18-year-old half sister, Kylie Jenner, posted an image many believe is a challenge to Kim K’s claim to be the perfect 10 of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians clan.
