#OneVoiceNigeria: Fans blast Basketmouth for not joining protest

Bright Okpocha, the comedian popularly known as Basketmouth, was shaded by fans who felt he should join the #OneVoiceNigeria protest instead of promoting his show.

The 38-year-old in preparation for his comedy show, Lord of the Ribs, holding on February 14 in London on Monday put up a promotional post on Instagram for his show.

This did not sit well with some Nigerians who felt the comedian should at least use his platform to support the anti-government protest initially promoted by 2face Idibia.

The father of two is however not averse to the protest as he put up a post on Sunday, after 2face announced backing out of the protest, applauding the musician.

Before Tuface stepped out to air his views and speak for most Nigerians if not all, most people got so comfortable complaining about the state of Nigeria on blogs, their homes etc. Nobody made a move to do anything about anything. Whether he pulled it off or not….bottom line is that he took a step, unlike the people cursing him out even after he gave a very sensible reason to pull out. At least now we know that the Govt is afraid of what can become of Nigeria if everyone comes together to speak in one voice, one heart to achieve one goal. Big ups @official2baba
