The suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen, missed Tuesday’s hearing at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), for medical reasons.
Defence counsel, Adegboyega Awomolo, presented a medical report to the tribunal obtained by Onnoghen from the hospital where he was diagnosed with high blood pressure.

Prosecution counsel, Aliyu Umar, acknowledged that he had received a photocopy of the medical report.
Mr Umar said he would have expressed observation about the medical report but for the comment of the doctor who signed it, stating that Onnoghen had a high blood pressure of 410/121.
The report also stated that Onnoghen needed to observe bed rest for 72 hours. But the CCT had on Monday ordered a day-to-day hearing.
The tribunal later adjourned the case till March 18 after both counsels agreed to abide by the medical report.
