The suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen, has pleaded not guilty to six-count charges of non-declaration of assets.
He chose to remain standing in the dock on Friday after the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) chairman, Danladi Umar, offered him a seat.
Onnoghen is dressed in a suit with a yellow tie and transparent glasses with black frame.
Defence counsel, Chris Uche, orally requested for bail which was granted on self-recognisance by the tribunal.
Mr Uche also filed an application for adjournment of proceedings until after elections.
Meanwhile, the CCT chairman has withdrawn the arrest warrant on the condition that Onnoghen would always appear in court till the conclusion of his trial.
